SUNDAYS AT COOPER
We are negotiating with Cooper School for brighter premises, and there is a real prosplect of us being moved to the newer performance hall in time for the induction of our new minister in September.
HEALING ON THE STREETS
This ministry started in March 2009 between the churches in Bicester, and includes some OBF members. It follows the pattern founded by Mark Marx, with simple declarations in Jesus name, using His authority and relying on His Spirit, which hasn't changed since He raised the dead 2000 years ago! The action happens every Saturday in Sheep Street and new training courses can be arranged for anyone new wanting to join the team.
EVENTS FOR 2010
The Ladies are off to a retreat day in November. In addition the Holiday Club "Rocky's Plaice" will be running for a week on 16th August and the Churches in Bicester host their 6th Family Fun Day on Saturday 11th September. The Induction of the Rev Stephen Barber on Saturday 18th September. We also hope to go to the Pioneer Centre for a weekend perhaps early 2011. It's all go!
FOR THE KIDS
For children's talks or Sunday school we have a selection of glove puppets for drama and fun. For parents with fidgety pre-schoolers, we have a number of gym-bags containing small (quiet) toys, books and colouring. So if the service is proving too much for them, open in such an emergency and then return them in good condition ready for the next person!
SEEDBARN
A Christian bookshop, cafe and line dancing classes, at the Methodist Church every Wednesday, from 2-4pm. People from all the churches are welcome to befriend newcomers and aid in setting up, as well as just having fun at the event!
CHRISTIAN LIBRARY
There is a lot to see in the free library, with brand new, unread additions from the Christian Resources Exhibition. Categories include books on the Holy Spirit, Second Coming, testimonies, fiction (teens & kids), prayer, Bible study. Also available for loan, but not on public display, are a number of drama sketch books. See Bea or Steve Foster. Feel free to borrow any titles but please return them afterwards for others to enjoy. Also browse the Methodist’s even bigger collection whenever the church is open on a weekday morning, or after their services. If you have any Christian books, tapes, CDs or DVDs, which are gathering dust on your shelves, feel free to add these to the collection. Should you forget your Bible during the service, there are a number of various translations in the library.
